Welcome to the many new bead workers who have been finding our web-shop recently. We hope you continue to find that we have, probably, the most extensive range of Miyuki beads available in the UK, and that we can continue to provide you all with the high level of customer service we are famous for. We are very proud that so much of our business comes from personal recommendation and we thank all of you who are helping to 'spread the word' about Charisma Beads.
The last few months have seen quite a lot of 'behind the scenes' activity going on here, so I thought it was probably high time I brought you all up to date!
Many of you who buy over the internet will have noticed two changes already:

The massive increase in variety of beads available in the web-shop – we've spent most of the summer months on data entry! Now that the end is in sight – we're going to have a few days holiday, but more of that later!

Some items on your orders may be marked 'to follow'.
Earlier in the summer we paid a visit to a certain well-known bead supplier, the result of which was that we now have a lot of stock that isn't, as yet, in the showroom! We are bringing into the showroom the items you ask for and have deliveries every week. Therefore, you may have to wait a few days for certain items (the ones marked 'to follow' on your invoice) but I thought it was a good 'trade-off' to be able to offer such a vast range of Miyuki beads. We continue to be 'customer led'.
The majority of orders are still despatched within 48 hours of the order being placed, and on the same day if you order before noon on the days we mail out (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays). My order, to the warehouse, goes at midday on Mondays and arrives here 3 days later, ready to be packed and mailed by Friday, i.e. if you order on Monday morning, any beads marked as 'to follow' will be with you for that weekend (Royal Mail allowing) but if you order on Tuesday morning you may have to wait an extra week (12 days) for the 'to follow' items. Your invoice will always tell you when to 'to follow' items will be despatched (subject to a 'typo error' or our being unable to read the calendar!).
Apologies, but a line has to be drawn somewhere. We will always keep you fully informed.
Now, a few items of advance news.

We are re-visiting our P&P charges. Please remember that these charges reflect costs other than the stamps (mail bags, wrapping, boxes, petrol, parking etc. all come into the equation as well as our time to process the order). Hopefully, we can reduce the charges for you.

Unfortunately, due to the current unfavourable exchange rates, our prices are having to rise. I have been resisting this for a long time but, as our purchasing costs have actually increased by about 20% in the last two years, I hope you will find the modest 8% we are implementing acceptable. The rise will only be applied as beads arrive in the showroom so please feel free to order as much as you like at the pre-increase prices!

We are having a few days off! The showroom will be closed from 18th to 22nd September (inclusive). Obviously we won't be mailing out any orders on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday but we will be mailing on Friday 23rd September and then it's back to 'business as usual'!

We are attending more shows next year (details on the 'Fairs' page of the website) and we hope many more of you will come and introduce yourselves to us. It's really nice to be able to put faces, and voices, to the many familiar names who are regular customers on the web.

Hi All!
This is keep you all up to date on what we're up to this summer.
Firstly, Richard and I are off to the USA on Wednesday 15th June, returning to work on Thursday 30th June. My niece is getting married out there so we have incorporated that into our summer holiday. Hopefully I'll persuade him to let me visit a bead store or two while we're over there!
I'll mail out all orders received before noon on 14th June before we go and then clear the backlog when we return, hopefully getting everything mailled that I can on Thursday 30th and Friday 1st July.
Secondly, Charisma now has a Facebook page and a Twitter page. Both can be accessed from the home page at www.charismabeads.co.uk, as if you didn't already know the website address! Keep an eye on these pages for news snippets, new colours available, workshop spaces, 'Bead-In' Day reminders etc. Don't forget you can contribute to these pages as well.
Thirdly, I would like remind you all of a couple of the customer services Charisma Beads has to offer you. If you need a large quantity of any one bead please let me know. Discounts are available on 100gms of any of the Delica range and also on 125gms and 250gms of everything else. Also, please let me know if you want anything else made by Miyuki. I have a new slogan:
